Evans ''Deluxe'' Sporting Rifle, NVSN, .44 Evans CF cal., 30'' round barrel, blue finish, walnut stock, checkered Schnauble forend, with musket-style rear sight. Top of barrel marked ''Evans Repeating Rifle, Mechanic Falls, ME'', and ''Pat. Dec. 9, 1868 & Sept. 16, 1871 USA''. This rifle is interesting in that it is configured as a long round barrel sporting rifle. It may possibly be a rare musket with modified forend, as most known Evans sporting rifles were fitted with octagonal barrels and not a round barrel such as this. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 95% factory blue, with thinning at highpoints of upper frame and overall toning. Stock and forend are excellent. Action is crisp, bore is bright. Est.: $3,000-$4,000. (Antique)
